Peter Economides

Peter is a highly experienced global marketing and communications specialist, former EVP and Worldwide Director of Client Services at McCann-Erickson, and former Head of Global Clients at TBWA\Worldwide. He has worked on some of the world’s leading brands including Absolut, Apple, Beiersdorf, Chivas Regal, Citibank, Coca-Cola, Gillette, L’Oréal, Nestlé, Sony and Unilever. Peter founded Felix BNI in 2003.

He started in Johannesburg as Advertising and Promotions Manager for Pepsi-Cola Africa.

A short while later he joined McCann-Erickson South Africa as an Account Executive working on Unilever, Gillette, Kentucky Fried Chicken, L’Oréal, Avis and a handful of other clients.

His first assignment outside South Africa was at McCann-Erickson Hong Kong as Regional Account Director for South East Asia. Two years later (and without speaking a word of Greek at the time) he moved to Greece as CEO of McCann-Erickson Athens.

In 1992 Peter was appointed CEO of McCann-Erickson Mexico, one of the largest operating units within the McCann-Erickson Worldwide network.

In 1996 he moved to McCann-Erickson Worldwide in New York as Executive Vice President/Worldwide Director of Client Services. A key role was the management of the $1,8 billion Coca-Cola global advertising account.

A few years later Peter moved to TBWA\Worldwide as Head of Global Clients. That’s where he met Steve Jobs when the global relaunch of Apple was assigned to TBWA.

Peter has served as the voluntary Board Chair of leading global charity, Make-A-Wish International, based in Phoenix Arizona. He is a member of the Advisory Boards of the Los Angeles Greek Film Festival and the OXI Day Foundation in Washington DC. He is a Trustee of the SAHETI School in Johannesburg.

Peter has received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Hellenic Council of America. At the same time, his work was recognised by the US Congress. Early in 2018, the International Propeller Club of the United States honoured him with a Members’ Award of Excellence.
